The Unpredictability of Seattle Spring
Last month (March 2026), I planned to have some portrait mini sessions at Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle. Based on the warm winter we'd had in Seattle, I had scheduled them towards the beginning of the month, assuming the weather would be nice and we might even get early cherry blossoms. Of course, it had been raining the entire week leading up to my first round of minis. Two days before the sessions, I sent an email to my clients, letting them know that the weather looked good for the sessions and the sessions were still on, barring any major changes in the weather.
The next day, it snowed in Seattle.
So I emailed my clients again, giving them options for a postponement date or cancellation if they didn't want to brave the potential snow. Luckily, I was able to make something work for everyone, and we managed to get so many beautiful photos in the park!
Portraits For All
I always love the variety of clients that I'm able to work with all in one day with mini sessions. Individuals looking for new headshots, couples who haven't had professional photos since their wedding day, families with kids, and, one of my favorites from this round, a couple looking for photos with their dog for his quinceñera. There are so many reasons to want nice portraits, and I love being able to provide that for so many people.
